A Busy Mom's Healthy Survival Guide

A Busy Mom’s Healthy Survival Guide…Revised

woman_coffee

Old Survival Guide:

The alarm sounds at 6:00 a.m.

You hit snooze 2 or 3 times. Roll out of bed and begin the day.

Drink 2 or more cups of coffee. Run through the day with very little “real food.”

Work, run errands, take care of your kids and husband. Drink more coffee.

Push through the times when you feel like you will cry, scream, or fall apart.

Finally you crash, exhausted on the couch earlier than you would like in the evening.

Repeat daily.

A “normal” day for a busy mom doesn’t have to be like this.

Our hard working, stressful lifestyle has created depleted bodies for many of us. Our bodies need help to function at their best.

One of the most common things that we find “weak” in busy, active moms (and women in general) at our office is the thyroid gland.

The thyroid is a hormonal organ that is working hard every day (like you). Without proper nutrition, the thyroid begins to malfunction.

Thyroid malfunction can cause fatigue, anxiety, sadness, poor sleep, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, heart palpitations, painful or erratic periods, and bowel problems.

Sounds like “Busy Mom Syndrome” to me.

New Survival Guide:

The alarm sounds at 6:00 a.m.

You wake up easily, rested and refreshed. Eat a healthy breakfast with warm lemon water to drink.

Work, run errands, take care of your kids and husband. Eat a healthy lunch. Stop at the Nutritional Healing Center for your appointment to take care of yourself.

You stay calm and rational even in stressful situations.

Enjoy some exercise, a massage, or a walk.

Eat a healthy dinner with your family or friends.

And, at night you might even have the energy for a conversation with your spouse.

Repeat daily.

With the right supplements and a good diet your day (and overall health) can be improved.

Thyroid health depends on adequate amounts of minerals and good fats to function well. By finding out exactly what your body needs with Nutrition Response Testing you can feel better.

If you know of someone who suffers from “The Busy Mom (Dad) Syndrome,” send them this article. We can put them back in the drivers seat and in control of their life!

P.S. While this is a Busy Mom’s Survival Guide we also see many men with similar symptoms. My husband’s heart racing/palpitations have completely stopped since we have balanced his thyroid function.

Yours in Health,

Dr. Kathleen Voortmann
